Please note the following points:

  • The project must comply with the purpose of the foundation in accordance with Section 2 of the Foundation Establishment Act  of 21st June 2000.
  • The film project must be of a documentary nature. Filming permits will not be granted for films in which the Hohenschönhausen detention centre serves merely as a backdrop.
  • Our guided tours have priority at all times and must not be obstructed. It is therefore not possible to cordon off or restrict areas.
  • Applications for filming permits are checked from a content and logistical point of view. Please inform us in good time of the date, time and location of the broadcast.

Please note: the Memorial charges a location fee for filming, which is based on duration and effort.

On its social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial provides information about the work of the foundation, the history of the prison site and the system of political justice in the German Democratic Republic.
